Cost-effective consulting is about leveraging patterns - or antipatterns, as the case may be.  When you consult with PEA, we may be able to offer you the option of licensing (and customizing) one of our Methodology Packs, which contain an encapsulation of the most commonly recommended techniques and approaches to PE that we have provided to our clients. This can be much more cost effective than pure custom consulting.

PEA's Methodology Packs are sets of customized techniques and tools that cater to specific areas of performance engineering. These are minimalistic pieces of writing, typically 20-25 pages each. As with our consulting, there are two distinguishing features of our packs. Firstly, the content is articulated in a platform-independent and tool-independent manner, which means they are applicable to a broad array of deployment platforms and performance testing tools. Secondly, the focus is on scientific, quantitative techniques rather than the "rule-of-thumb" cowboy approaches that typically characterize the practice of performance engineering.

Each pack comes bundled with 2 days of consulting from us; this allows you to see the pack in action on a real-life project immediately after you license it.
